I created an encrypted disk on a USB drive the other day, and added a password hint. I don't remember what the password is. (I have a scheme for mapping hints to passwords, so when there's a hint available I just pick something random and write out the appropriate hint.)
Resetting a forgotten Mac password is pretty easy if you have an installer disk, drive, or the recovery partition handy, which method you use here will depend on the version of OS X the Mac is running.
i forgot my password and apple id password for my macbook air i tried everything and nothing works due to a drive asking for password which again i dont know can you please help me before i slamm my laptop
Nothing seems to work. If I hold down the OPTION key I get a screen with a locked lock icon, but cannot type anything in the text box. Doing the same with an install DVD in the drive results in nothing. I have tried everything and simply cannot get into Single User Mode. Would replacing the hard drive remove all password and allow me to reinstall the operating system?
I have a 2017 Imac pro I installed high sierra a day later I turned it on only for it to stay stuck on apple loading bar. Ive tried just about every thing. option is the only thing that works and it takes me to my filmware password witch I put in it just pauses or freezes for a few seconds and the password disappears and computer does nothing, can you help? ive tried every keyboard command I know, thank you
The next time any login screen is accessed in Mac OS X, and an improper password has been entered three times or more, the password hint will display. This applies to the standard boot and reboot login screen, as well as the password protected locked screen saver that should be enabled on the Mac.
Of course users can also choose to hide the password hint from any and all login screens as well, which means they will never be visible regardless of how many improper passwords have been entered on the Mac login screen.
Step #6. Type New Password with an appropriate hint that should not forget next time. Keep in mind that verify the password. It means you should enter the password two times. Now click Next.
This step is mandatory for iBoysoft BitLocker for Mac to unlock your drive. It is as much of a policy issue as it is a technological limitation. Check "Remember this password in my keychain" to save the password for the next entry.
Entering a password or a recovery key is a must for iBoysoft Data Recovery or any data recovery tool to recover data from your BitLocker-encrypted drive. Once you did not have the password or recovery key, you can recover the forgotten BitLocker password, recover the lost BitLocker recovery key, and format the BitLocker-encrypted drive.
The USB Flash Drive is then reusable. Due to the nature of the USB it is not possible to recover the passwords and it is highly recommended to set a password hint when setting up the encrypted USB. Think about keeping a secure copy of your password.
With the CRYPTO DUAL version a Master and User password can be set. If the User forgets their password they are warned of the fifth attempt to go to the Master who can unlock the drive with the Master Password if set. Please click here to see the range. On the sixth attempt the drive is erased. 2b1af7f3a8
